Most 80s color films will be within copyright and are taken down for copyright infringement as soon as the Archive staff sees them. You will find some color films in the Feature Films section of the Archive that you should find at this link:
http://www.archive.org/details/feature_films
Of course, if you know the name of the movie you are looking for you should be able to find it in a search of the moving images Archive if it hasn't been removed over copyright.

I know this is expanding the period a bit, but I was looking at couple of sites that listed films they think are in the public domain. I've listed below all the post-1963 US films that they list, so that maybe someone could check the status of them (most of the 80's one are made-for-tv movies).
